Beautiful Strength

A couple months ago I introduced my husband to the Beautiful Strength Bus Instagram page because I loved their mission: Celebrating the resilience of the human spirit through the power of conversation and photography. They’re doing this while traveling around the U.S. in a school bus. I wanted to meet these people someday.

Turns out they were headed to Bellingham and my husband jumped on the opportunity to invite them to stay on our property. We’ve considered hosting boondockers since the end of 2019 when we bought a fixer upper with land, but Inviting complete strangers to our home wasn’t something I was comfortable with. Lately I’ve been trying to get over my preconditioned anxiety and embrace opportunities as they come, so we went for it. I’m so glad we did; it turned out to be a wonderful experience.

Annette, the brains and beauty behind the operation, is a breath of fresh air and authenticity. She was traveling with Denise from theskooly, who is truly an inspiration and someone I wish I could have coffee with every morning. They had entirely different lives, but they didn’t let that stop them from caravanning and experiencing life together. I wanted to drop everything and go with them. After all, what’s better than traveling and encouraging people at the same time?

Annette hosts a podcast featuring individuals from all walks of life who have decided to keep going amidst life’s hardships. I was honored to be a guest, and was so happy to have an opportunity to bring awareness to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and the struggles Zebras face. I made a complete fool of myself (several times) but that’s what gives us character. Find it below!
